Alberto Bocini is double bass teacher at the HEM-Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva.

  He was Principal bass for 5 years in Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome) and for 15 years in Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence). Founding member of the Quartet "the Bass Gang" (Evasioni & Fughe, La Contrabbassata, The Chianti Concert) and of the Duo with Alessandro Cavicchi, (The Cryme of Selling Lambs, reinterpretations for db and piano of music by the progressive rock group Genesis and Al Basso l 'Opera, Italian Opera music revisited in a modern key, rock, jazz, ragtime, bossanova).

  But it is above all in the composition for his instrument where the crossover inspiration finds its greatest realization: numerous pieces composed for Solo Db, such those included in the new Album Bass on Fire, up  to the recent works with orchestra "XUITE-0, modular suite for double bass and orchestra" and "SLIDING DOORS, for violin, double bass, orchestra and cell phone ringtones.
