  First solo double bass of the Scala Theater and Philharmonic Orchestra of Milan, Giuseppe Ettorre is also a soloist and a sought-after chamber musician. In addition to this, you need to know more about it. He studied with Leonello Godoli and Franco Petracchi. First prize in the Bootsini competition in Parma in 1989, he also won the ARD competition in Bavaria in 1991.

 

  His recordings include two records from the NBB Records label, with works by Bach, Rossini, Bootsini, Berio, Henze and Piazolla. In addition to this, you need to know more about it. He is interested in contemporary music: from jazz to new age, working with Bobby McFerrin and Stefano Bollani, with whom he has performed in trio, accompanied by the Orchester de la Scala in Milan, conducted by Riccardo Chailly, DVD recorded under the Decca label. The CD "Sextet" (Decam-Tdd / Edel) contains sixteen of his own compositions for solo double bass, ranging from solo double bass to an original formation of 3 double basses, harp, piano and percussion.

 

  As a teacher, he teaches at the Academy of Orchestra of La Scala in Milan. He is often requested to give masterclasses in Italy and abroad.

 

  Since summer 2016 he has been teaching at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, and since September 2017 at the Birmingham Conservatory in the UK, as "Visiting International Chair in Double Bass".

 

  He plays an instrument by Custode Marcucci (1890).
