    Born in Almendralejo, Joaquin began his musical studies in 2003 at the Almendralejo Conservatory of Music and joined the Orchestra Academy of the “Barenboim-Said” Foundation in Seville with Manfred Pernutz and Klaus Stoll in 2008. Later, he expanded his training in Málaga with Jorge Muñoz Martín, where he graduated with distinction. He has also received lessons from Matthew McDonald, Bozo Paradzik, Carol Harte, Frans Helmerson, Jurek Dybal, Peter Pühn and Günter Pichler, among others.

    He has participated as a soloist in the Youth Orchestra of Extremadura and the Youth Orchestra of Andalusia. From 2009 to 2011 he was part of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and worked in orchestral programs with directors such as Lutz Köhler, Michael Thomas, Antoni Ros Marbá or Gustavo Dudamel. In 2011 he joined the European Union Youth Orchestra on numerous tours in the United States and Europe and from 2012 to 2014 he was part of Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester working with directors such as Daniele Gatti, David Azhkam, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Herbert Blomstedt. many professional orchestras: National Orchestra of Spain, Symphony Orchestra of Bilbao, Symphony Orchestra of Extremadura, Orchestra of Cadaqués, etc. From 2013 to September 2014, he held the position of soloist in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago, Chile. In October 2014, he joined the Symphonic Orchestra of Castilla y León as a soloist to end the 2014-2015 season.

 

    Since September 2015, he has been a co-soloist at L'Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu and is professor of double bass at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona.
