After starting the double bass at the age of eight in Norma Carreno's class, Matthias Bensmana joined a music class with flexible hours until high school. In addition to this, you need to know more about it. In 2007, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris in the class of Jean Paul Celea. After six months of Erasmus at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, in 2012 he obtained his Masters in performance with unanimous honors and congratulations from the jury.

He multiplied his professional experiences, first of all in France with the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra and the Paris Orchestra. He also participates in many festivals, such as the Festival de Saint Denis and the Festival de Radio France. He made his debut abroad in 2016 at the Verbier festival in the prestigious Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra.

The same year, Matthias joined the Basque National Orchestra Euskadiko of San Sebastian in Spain as solo double bass, then conducted by Jun Mârkl. But his experience was short-lived since in 2017 he won the solo double bass competition at the Orchester de Pau Pays de Béarn. At the same time, Matthias improved his skills with Niek De Groot, then a professor at the San Sebastian Conservatory and later, alongside Axel Bouchaux.

In 2018, he was taken on trial as a double bass player in the London Symphony Orchestra. He then had the chance to participate for more than a year in tours around the world and to be under the baton of illustrious conductors, such as Michael Tilson Thomas, Gianandrea Noseda, Sir Simon Rattle ...

Finally in 2019, Matthias won the Contrabass solo competition within the Geneva Chamber Orchestra conducted by Arie Van Beek.
